For evaluating the results of 3D video transmission and coding protocols and algorithms, the following hardware/software are required to setup a testbed within NSL:

Converts MPEG Transport Stream files (*.mts, *.ssif) and MP4 files (*.mp4) that use the H.264 MVC codec to two AVI files. It creates one AVI file for the left view and one for the right view. Microsoft XBOX 360 Kinect
An attachment for the XBOX 360 that combines four microphones, a standard RGB camera, a depth camera, and a motorized tilt. This would enable us to capture our own 3D videos. However, it should be noted that 3 or 4 of units are required to capture a video from multiple viewpoints. The problem is, the depth sensors may interfere with each other if operated simultaneously. So, even though one unit will work ok. To enable a true 3D reconstruction of the scene, a number of these devices need to operated synchronously. 		145.99 CAD (FutureShop)
